An Odd Way Of Songwriting
In the midst of all the recording, touring, and showbiz activities, Britney and her record company hired songwriters to write songs for her first two albums. She didn’t start writing her own songs until her third album, which was released in 2001. Britney had an odd way of keeping track of the songs she wanted to write because she was Britney. She’d use her cellphone to call her house phone and leave a message on the answering machine. She’d sing her suggestion over the phone, and it’d be recorded and waiting for her when she got home. That’s exactly what your grandmother would do. One of Spears’ first songs that she wrote by herself is “Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman.”

A Kitchen Nightmare
Britney Spears opened her own restaurant in New York City in 2002, following in the footsteps of her great-grandmother. The restaurant’s name was Nyla, and it served Louisiana-style Cajun food similar to what she ate as a kid. But, just a few months after its launch, it all came crashing down. Spears left the partnership after claiming that the other proprietors had not kept her involved in the business. The worst wasn’t over yet… For starters, the company had amassed a mountain of debt, not to mention a slew of health code violations in the kitchens. When Britney Spears left, Nyla closed and reopened as an Italian restaurant. It was eventually forced to shut down permanently. It sounds like they should have enlisted Gordon Ramsey’s help to resolve this kitchen nightmare!
