Married?
Britney Spears married Kevin Federline on September 18, 2004… or did she? Their wedding was unusual for a variety of reasons. To begin with, the wedding came as a complete surprise. Only 27 people were invited, and they were all under the impression that they were attending an engagement party rather than a wedding. After the ceremony and dinner, the entire group went to a local bar, many of them dressed in matching sweatsuits. Federline’s was emblazoned with “The Pimp,” while his buddies’ was emblazoned with “The Pimps.” There was just one slight snag… Britney and Kevin did not marry on that day.

A Cover Up Wedding
Britney began working with a lawyer after K-Fed proposed to draft a prenuptial agreement that would protect all of her assets in the event of a divorce after K-Fed proposed. It was taking an abnormally long time to finish. Because the couple was being pursued by the paparazzi, Spears anticipated that wedding preparation details would be revealed, so she planned an unofficial, non-binding wedding ceremony. So, until Spears and Federline married in a secret ceremony on October 6th, 2004, their wedding was technically a ruse. This was only after Kevin had signed the lengthy prenuptial agreement created by her legal staff.
