Tragedy Struck
Despite her breakups and hasty weddings, Britney Spears was practically a global megastar at the height of her career. Nothing could stop her at the time. As a result of her friendship with Madonna, Britney began working with the Kabbalah Center in 2004. She’d finished and released In the Zone, as well as embarked on a massive promotional tour. Tragic events occurred after only two months… While filming a music video, Britney slipped and badly injured her knee. Because her injury was so severe, she needed arthroscopic surgery and had to wear a thigh brace for six weeks. This was followed by a recovery period of eight to twelve weeks, which resulted in her tour being canceled. For the first time in six years, she was unable to advance in her career. The aftermath of the injury was disastrous, as it was at this point in her life that many of her problems came to a head. A problem named Kevin.

The Man Named Kevin
During rehearsals for the In the Zone tour, Spears fell in love with a man she met at a club. He was one of the backup dancers for the pop band LFO. His name was Kevin Federline. In July 2004, while she was recovering from surgery, the couple revealed they were engaged to be married. Kevin had been in her life for only three months, but that wasn’t the only problem. Kevin Federline and actress Shar Jackson had recently divorced and were expecting their second child. The tabloids brought a lot of unwanted attention to the embarrassing situation, but Britney’s situation was about to get much worse.
