David Ellis lives in a gated community in a small neighborhood, and the story we’re about to tell you is about him. He worked as a cop for the Los Angeles Police Department for 40 years, enforcing the law and dealing with narcotics and fraud. No one in his community is more knowledgeable about the law than he is. He felt it was time to retire after many years of work and spend his weekends caring for his garden.

He considers his garden to be his sanctuary, and he enjoys tending to it and beautifying it. David is known for his politeness and good manners, which begs the issue of what could have enraged him so much. On weekends, he enjoys cutting the cypress trees that surround his property (one of which is right behind his fence).
