People with global celebrity frequently appear to have the world at their feet, but this is not always the case. Brad Pitt was once barred from entering China. Why was this happening? The Chinese government strongly opposed his 1997 film “Seven Years in Tibet” because they felt it depicted the People’s Republic of China negatively and the Dalai Lama positively. However, after nearly twenty years, Pitt’s ban was overturned, allowing him to enter China. He was even able to promote his 2016 picture “Allied” throughout the country.

Recasting Kidman
When most people think of actress Nicole Kidman, they undoubtedly imagine that almost any actor would want to star with her. But not Brad Pitt. When it came time to film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” Kidman was in the running to play opposite Pitt, but he believed he lacked on-screen chemistry with the actress and was not convinced to do the picture. Things changed radically when Angelina Jolie was cast instead. Nobody in their right mind could argue that the stars lacked chemistry. (Even if they were unaware that the film had helped them form a relationship.)
