How far will you go to improve your work? Method actors are well-known for going to tremendous measures to “become” their characters during the filming as well as before and after. Other performers frequently conduct extensive research on their parts and even go on field trips, some of which can be gloomy. Brad Pitt’s gloomy field trip was to a mental facility. To prepare for his role as a mental patient in the 1995 film “Twelve Monkeys,” he once visited (or rather “checked into”) a psychiatric institution in Philadelphia. Hey, sometimes you need to get your hands dirty.

Most people associate Brad Pitt and his films with big-screen comedies or tragedies. Most people don’t think of animated films. Still, Brad tried his hand at a couple animated movies! He played the surprisingly complicated Metro Man in the animated film “Megamind” in 2010. He also performed the character of Sinbad in “Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas”. His voice was also heard on television when he appeared in the animated series “King of the Hill”. Patch Boomhauer played a brief cameo in an episode from 2003.
