Do you realize how each country has its own set of symbols? The turtle has become one of Singapore’s most identifiable creatures for some unexplained reason. There is a turtle and tortoise museum in Singapore, where they are served on restaurant menus (!!!) and regarded as pets, just like dogs and cats. The residents are crazy with them, and there are turtle viewing areas all over town. Because some of these parks include turtles that are over 800 years old, we conclude Singaporeans are doing something right.
