Singapore’s cocktails are unlike anything you’ve ever had. The flavors in Singapore should be reflective of local and traditional dishes. So, instead of a double mac and cheese cocktail or an apple pie beverage (though both could work), we’re talking about a kaya toast (typical Singapore toast with jam) cocktail or a gula Melaka (palm sugar) cocktail. We’re not sure if the cocktails are produced with flavored extracts or if the actual food is diced up and mixed in, but we fear Singapore’s cocktail work has gone too far.

Slip Sliding Away

Singapore is really hot. Singapore is really hot. Remove your three-piece suit, as well as your coats and sweaters, because your flip flops and shorts will be best friends. Please don’t misunderstand us. Singaporeans are not sloppy or careless. This is how they live. Most people in the West dress up in suits, jeans, sweaters, and boots, but it’s a pool party all day in Singapore. Remember that while flip flops are not allowed at certain special occasions (such as weddings or funerals), they (and you) are welcome everywhere else.
