From his spot by the grill, John watched the fun riot that was going on, with Max shooting from one side to the other and Jake trying hard to keep up, both beaming with energy. “That dog sure knows how to liven up a party!” he commented between laughs, shaking his head. As I laughed, I realized how much Max’s liveliness was winning John over, making him relax and let himself be enveloped by the joy of the moment.
