Follow These Tips To Get The Most Out Of Your Studying Time

College life can get pretty hectic in between being a full-time student, having a social life, and sometimes even a part-time job. At the end of the day, the reason we go to college is to get a good education, despite all the things around us that are trying to steal our attention. With that being said, you don’t always have unlimited study time and that’s why you need to manage your time efficiently. When it comes to studying for exams, it’s not about how much time you spend studying but instead,  the quality of your study tactic. You can easily spend 5 hours on the material but not process anything, compared to someone who spends an hour and is halfway through the material. The importance is how you study and where you study. Good thing you came to the right place because here we have excellent study tips for you!

The Environment

My first semester studying for exams is one I will never forget. I wasted so much time studying because I wanted to have fun while doing so. I chose to study at my friend’s very noisy and distracting apartment. Keep in mind she wasn’t particularly serious about school and took any opportunity to get up and clean the apartment or cook. Also, let’s not forget that my college crush lived in the apartment across the street. Let’s just say after I saw my first semester grades, I knew it was time to change things up and every semester afterward it was to the library for me!

Study Buddy

Finding a study partner on the same level as you with similar study habits is one of the best ways to maximize your study time. You don’t necessarily have to study together but it is helpful to be near each other so whenever a question comes up you can check-in. This also may motivate you to study harder and more efficiently to stay on the same page. Studying doesn’t need to be a dreadful process, so having a friend around for breaks is a great way to loosen up.

Organization

Half the time you spend studying is getting organized. When the semester is winding down, take it upon yourself to gather your notes and presentations before the study period actually begins. This way when you’re ready to start learning for your first test, you won’t be scrambling around to find Lecture 11. This doesn’t mean you won’t add notes or lectures throughout the process, but at least the foundation will already be there.
